About Me

I am a humanitarian practictioner with over six years of experience advancing gender equality in crisis-affected contexts. Most recently, I worked as a Gender, Age, and Social Inclusion Advisor at the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, where I ensured that humanitarian assistance met the needs of marginalized communities such as women, persons with disabilities, and children. I hold a M.A. in International Development from American University, and B.A.s in Economics and International Politics from Penn State University.

As an Adjunct Lecturer with Virginia Tech's Department of Economics, I bring a strong background in public policy, gender studies, and international development. My course, the Economics of Gender, provides an opportunity for students to explore how gender affects economic outcomes.  Learn more about the course here!
